Atlantic Wall
The Waldam Battery was another strategically important section of the Atlantic Wall. The installation was built as part of the German coastal defence system and guarded a significant stretch of coastline in northern France.
Histovia Film documented the surviving structures and offers insight into the design and function of this coastal battery. The footage, filmed on site, shows impressive concrete constructions that have withstood decades of weathering.
The reel explains the role the Waldam Battery played within the overall Atlantic Wall system, and why such installations, despite their imposing appearance, were ultimately overcome from a strategic standpoint.
