The Man Who Wanted to Reach Mars – Hermann Oberth Part 2

Part 2 of the Oberth series focuses on the decisive phase in Oberth's life – his collaboration with the Verein für Raumschiffahrt (VfR, Society for Space Travel) in Berlin and his influence on the young Wernher von Braun.

In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Oberth and von Braun worked together on practical rocket experiments. This collaboration between the theoretical founding father and the later engineer was crucial to the development of the Aggregat programme.

Histovia Film shows how Oberth's ideas were translated from theory into practice, and traces the direct line from Oberth's early writings to the V2 and, ultimately, to the Saturn V moon rocket.
