Switzerland Reduit Bunker

Secret Infantry Bunkers in Switzerland

The Swiss Réduit comprised hundreds of secret infantry bunkers spread across the country, disguised as ordinary buildings, barns or rock formations. These installations formed an invisible defence network.

Histovia Film visited and documented several of these secret bunker installations. The perfect camouflage – many look like ordinary farmhouses or rock formations – remains impressive to this day.

The reel reveals how these bunkers were constructed, how the soldiers lived and fought inside them, and why the Swiss defence concept, with its thousands of camouflaged positions, is considered one of the cleverest of its time.
