US Military Police Checkpoint – Normandy 1944, re-enacted in Sisseln

At D-Day Sisseln 2026, re-enactment groups recreated an authentic US Military Police checkpoint – exactly as it would have stood at the beach crossings in Normandy in 1944. Uniforms, vehicles and equipment were faithfully recreated down to the smallest detail.

Histovia Film was on site and documented the checkpoint in a striking reel. The quality of the portrayal – from the uniforms and vehicles to the performers' behaviour – is remarkably authentic.

The reel offers a glimpse into the world of historical re-enactment and shows how such events help keep history vivid and tangible – for all generations.
