Navy
The Seehund was a German midget submarine from the Second World War, operated by a two-man crew. It was deployed from 1944 onwards and was intended to attack Allied supply ships in shallow coastal waters.
At just 11.9 metres long and weighing 15 tonnes, the Seehund was the smallest operational submarine of the Kriegsmarine. Despite its modest size, it was armed with two torpedoes and technically sophisticated.
Histovia Film documents a surviving example of the Seehund and explains its technical features, its operational scenarios, and the fate of the brave crews who served aboard these tiny boats.
